Ga-Rankuwa Water Project Cuts Non-Revenue Water by 28%

The completed Ga-Rankuwa Water Reticulation Upgrade has achieved a 28% reduction in non-revenue water losses, improving service delivery for over 15 000 households.

Measurable Results in Water Infrastructure

Mihloti Consulting Engineers is pleased to report the successful completion and handover of the Ga-Rankuwa Water Reticulation Upgrade, commissioned by the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality.

Key Outcomes

Post-construction monitoring has confirmed a 28% reduction in non-revenue water losses, significantly exceeding the project's target of 20%. The upgraded bulk water main and reticulation network now provides improved pressure and reliability to over 15 000 households.

Technical Highlights

The project required advanced hydraulic modelling to identify the optimal pipe sizing and layout for the upgraded network. Our team also introduced pressure management zones that will allow the municipality to proactively manage the system going forward.

Client Feedback

The City of Tshwane's Water and Sanitation Department has commended Mihloti for the quality of construction supervision and the minimal disruption to existing water services during the upgrade works.

This project reinforces Mihloti's capability in delivering impactful water infrastructure across South Africa.
